I was really, really impressed by the show on Friday night. I have seen Dream Theater (they are my favorite band, ya’ know) before and I have watched all of their live DVD’s. Normally, the vocalist James LaBrie has a hard time delivering the same quality performance live as he does on the recordings. I am happy to report that his vocal performance was awesome at this show. The only time he had a problem at all was a couple of notes in Pull Me Under…and hell, he was singing that almost 20 years ago so I’ll give him a hall pass on it. All in all though, they were fucking tight as hell and I’m so glad I got to see them again.
Iron Maiden…what can I say….they are fucking badass. I was a late bloomer for Iron Maiden, only really getting into them over the last five years or so…which made getting to see them again a real treat. Austin (my little brother) had never got to see either band so he was very excited to be there.
My sweetie Lori and her daughter and a couple of friends also enjoyed the show with us. In fact, I ended up with a great picture of Lori and I that I might as well share with the rest of you. Anyway…it rocked, kicked the ballz right off of a midget, and was moister than a sex starved prom date. Hell yeah.
