So I completed my second prototype today on my invention “The Fin.” (patent pending…you thieving motherfuckers…bwahahaha).
This is actually quite an improvement over my first design in many ways. One of the most notable, and pleasing, new features is that the glove is black instead of white. This is important because black signifies METAL instead of SUNDAY ON THE DRIVING RANGE. Since I am playing prog-metal and not golf, this is a good thing. I also reinforced the thumb portion leading up to the pick edge so that it stays mostly immobile instead of drooping like an elderly man’s ballbag.
So what is “The Fin?” Good question boys and girls. This is my invention to help me play bass while pretending that I can also play guitar. This allows me to play bass fingerstyle with all three fingers, yet slam my thumb down onto my finger and create a pinch harmonic with the pick edge of “The Fin.” I can also strum a chord when needed or even pull off a sweep or two. I tried it out today and it worked perfactly…I am very happy with the finished product and it will become a permanent addition to my playing style. All it really needs is a “FROTH” patch or cool jack-o-lantern or both. That would be fucking moist.
On a side note about practice with the NS/STICK, I bought a kapo today and tried to use that to take care of my multiple tuning issue with Six Minute Century…and to my total fucking amazement, the damn thing worked great. Holy shit…who knew? In truth, I have spent my day weirding out my bass playing.
Maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket today instead…I seem to be batting a 1000 for once.
